Artistic Documentary | Cinemagraphic Wedding video editingThe difference between Artistic Documentary and My 'Signature' Wedding Video Editing

The difference between an Artistic Documentary and my 'Signature' wedding video edit is a bit difficult to put into words. "Artistic Documentary" is my unique style of documenting your wedding day in a chronological order using artistic shots, music, split screens and other very professional transitions and edits.  I create a retelling of your wedding day that is not boring and never makes you feel that you need to fast forward to get to the good parts.  The editing on an Artistic Documentary is much more strait forward than the Cinemagraphic edit.  Finished videos are usually 1-2 hours.

My 'Signature' wedding video is more like a movie than a documentary.  Viewers are treated to my highly skilled professional editing that helps them experience the wedding and lets the couple relive the day.  Like Hollywood movies, the editing process is intense and takes about twice as long as the documentary editing because of the extreme attention to every single detail.  Slow motion movements, softening of scenes, special lenses, wide angle shots, multiple cameras and more footage are just some of the main differences.  Check out the chart below to quickly compare the difference between the edit styles that I offer.

Artistic Documentary Edit

'Signature' Movie Edit

A great deal of creative footage is taken, but only about 15-25% of that of the 'Signature' option Highly creative footage is taken throughout the day that will be added to the final edit creating an amazing movie
Only the wide angle lenses are used consistent with a documentary approach. The cameras are equipped with special lenses that allow for more creativity.
The Artistic Documentary approach uses the A-Z approach to tell your story in chronological order.  The movie editing process takes about two times as long as the documentary process due to the highly complex techniques used to retell your wedding day story.
Any interviews taken are placed in chronological order consistent with the documentary approach Voice overs and messages from family and loved ones are woven into the storyline from start to finish to treat the viewer to the emotional moments and feelings from the day.
Sound is captured using wireless microphones and ambient mics by the videographer Professional audio engineer records all of the sounds from your ceremony.  Our audio engineer is trained in the use of professional sound mixers, microphones and computers to make sure the sounds are correctly and cleanly recorded.
Most transitions are achieved through a dissolve. Slow motion, softened scenes, and care for each and every transition is used to lead the viewer through the story of your day.
